what was your first project & when?
Rita ~ I think my first project was a scarf for my then high school boyfriend.
Heather ~ an endless scarf when I was young.
what was/is your most difficult project?
Rita ~ the Corset Tank Top is certainly the most frustrating project. I startedit a number of times when I found a mistake I couldn't fix,
frogged & began again...
Heather ~ usually the project I'm currently working on
what was/is your favorite project?
Rita ~ I think the Fetchings I made as gifts this Christmas.

Rita ~ sweet of course. Chocolate rules.

tell us something interesting about yourself
Rita ~ I'm a mechanical engineer who loves to travel.
Heather ~ I took up spinning 10 or more years before I really started
to knit or crochet.
aside from knitting, what are you passionate about?
Rita ~ I'm an avid gardener, a crazy recycler and love Jazzercise and riding my bike.
Heather ~ My psycho cat & husband. Medieval recreation [Society for Creative Anachronism].
Thank you from Judith to all who signed up and volunteered time in the Knit Michigan learn to knit room. The area was larger this year and there were a lot of people to teach knitting and crocheting. There were more vendors this year and the silent auction had lots of items, from yarn to books to finished garments. City Knits from Grand Rapids had Yarn Hollow, Black Sheep Forever, our very own Kim W. creation. 
The program last night was embellishments. Linda Dean presented crochet embellishments, Suzanne Jones taught needlefelting, Stacey Totzke taught beading and Nancy Brown presented thrums. Our members are very talented and willing to share!
In addition, Judith collected premie hats and blankets from Black Sheep to be delivered to Providence Hospital.
Don't forget! We meet Tuesday, February 10, from 7 to 9 pm at St. Columban Church. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Use this extra half hour to arrive and sign in, buy raffle tickets, socialize and catch up with your friends before the meeting begins at 7 p.m.

A number of learning stations will be set up around the room. Members who wish to participate will gather at a particular station, learn the skill presented and then move to the next station. It will be a fun evening, with great skills being shared by the following BSKG members:
1. Crochet embellishment presented by Linda Dean
2. Needlefelting presented by Suzanne Jones
3. Beading presented by Stacey Totzke
4. Thrums presented by Nancy Brown
This is a demo only evening, so come prepared to watch, learn and enjoy! No supplies necessary.

All of the Sneaky Sheep have received the name of the sheep who they will be knitting for.
Hope you can knit & keep it a secret until the April swap.

Franklin Habit & Black Sheep!
Six sheep traveled to Lansing to meet up with Franklin Habit at Threadbear to get our copies of "It Itches" signed. Other Black Sheep joined us (Iris and the Perrones. We all had a great time chatting with Franklin and walking around Threadbear trying to decide what to buy. It's so difficult, you know. We all enjoyed ourselves and some, I think, were even visiting Threadbear for the first (but I'm sure not the last) time.
Sally, the musical Black Sheep,
will be performing at Hagopian rug store in Birmingham on January 30.
The Nightnotes concert - by an oboe trio - will perform Beethoven, Bach,
Bozza and more. Refreshments are served at 8PM and the concert begins at 8:30.
Knitters get $5 off $20 tickets by calling 248-559-2095 ahead of time.
At the January meeting these scarves were turned in for SOS.
edited to add: Black Sheep are still needed to help in the "learn to knit"area at Knit Michigan on February 7.
The time slots are 9:30-11, 11-1, and 1-3 [with everyone out at 3].

Sneaky Sheep Swap version 2 (s3.2)
Last night we debuted this year's secret pal swap. For those of you who couldn't make it, we'll be exchanging a gift made with one skein of yarn store quality yarn. Choose a skein that you'd love to have something made out of, and make something for another black sheep!
As we did last year, we'll be exchanging names anonymously using the www.elfster.com website. To sign up for the swap, just follow this link and complete the form! If you were part of the swap last year (or part of another swap that used the website) all of the questions you've been asked in the past (as well as your answers) will still appear in your profile. Feel free to use them or delete them as you see fit.
Don't be shy about asking questions--you may want to ask questions of people you may not be swapping with, just to stir things up a bit! That makes it even more fun! Or, ask random questions that you were just wondering. . .maybe you've been dying to know what shampoo that sneaky sheep next to you has been using. . .her hair is just so bouncy! :-)
Have fun. . .and remember, sign ups close on Jan 31, and the one skein projects will be exchanged at our April meeting. I can't wait to see how creative all of our members will be!
