RETREAT

Well, the 2013 retreat at the Ralph A. MacMullan Conference Center at Higgins Lake is officially over!  We had 40 Black Sheep attend, which is the highest number so far.  The weather was a bit wonky, but no one seemed to mind.  We knit, ate, drank, had massages, got henna tattoos, walked around, and, did I say, we knit!!!  A couple of Black Sheep even went kayaking on Higgins Lake early Saturday morning.

We had a beautiful display of items making up our door prizes.  Here are just a few pictures.





Saturday we had a class on color pooling with Lynn Hershberger.  Lynn taught the same class at the Sock Summit.  It was a very interesting class and a great learning experience.  Thank you Lynn!

Thanks to all who helped in making this retreat the success it was.  And thank you to all who attended.  We love ya and hope to see you next year.  And, to those who couldn't make it this year, we hope you will be able to do so next year.  Just ask your friend and fellow Black Sheep who went how great a time we all had.

Hello, looks like you all had a wonderful time and I just wanted you to know how much I appreciated the Thank you card with so many signatures. That was extremely thoughtful and I hope who ever got the Tempted enjoys it.

New Meeting Location! effective immediately for our Tuesday Jan 8, 2007 Meeting I feel like we've been in a sweat lodge for the last few months meeting at the Community Center. . .in response to all of the hot flashes and personal fans brought to the meetings, we've chosen a new (and cooler)location. BSKG 1st Guest Post

She’s the kind of friend that has all these crazy, great ideas, and somehow, before you know it, you’re smack dab in the middle of something! This friend is the reason that I found myself starting a knitting guild (BSKG) with her a few years ago and found myself president of said guild a few years later. She is also the reason that I started designing patterns. I was just drifting along, calmly knitting away when she said “write a pattern, challenge yourself” That is how I came to write my very first pattern “Etta” which appeared in Lace One Skein Wonders . Now writing a pattern didn’t come easy, there were many mistakes along the way, but I stuck with it and finally I had a pattern I was proud to publish on Ravelry. "Speed Knitting"

Ever seen anyone knit so fast they needed a helmet to protect themselves? Or maybe, the helmet is to protect themselves from the head bashing you do when you've made a REALLY big mistake and need to frog. . .
