The April meeting will be held at the Fifth Third Bank THIS Tuesday at 7pm. No special supplies needed, but since we've had so much to do for the past few months, we thought a serious show and tell was needed. Bring your Lenten finished objects, a project you've been working on or something you're having trouble with. . .and show off! Ann W from Knitting Room will be giving a presentation on the history of knitting. We'll also be collecting for the May dinner/swap and sale. Dinner will be provided by the Coffee Beanery and will be around $10--we'll have the exact amount on Tuesday.
If you're headed on the retreat with us, we'll have some last minute details just for you. April has been a month where the BSKG has been showered with gifts. . .Kate has been hard at work getting goodies to make the retreat the best yet! (I know, we've only had one other, but still. It's the thought!) Check out the side bar to see who has generously sponsored our retreat so far. . .the list will be updated as more things arrive!

that the BSKG has grown so that many of us don't know each other. In an effort to learn more about our members, did ewe know will appear in the newsletter and on the blog. Here's our V.P., Kate Pultz:
tell us about your first project...what & when
Besides the yards and yards of i-cord spewed forth from a knitting nancy one summer when I was young, my first knitting project was a pattern called Nancy's Hat in 1999. But truly I have just begun knitting consistently in the past couple of years.
what was your most difficult project?
Probably the first charted pattern I knit which was actually enjoyable once I got the hang of reading the charts. Just one of those projects that I really should have knit while alone since I get too chatty and distracted easily.
what was/is your favorite project?
The Peruvian Hat that I learned to knit at Ewe-nique Knits. Worked inside out in purl stitches only, using the around-the-neck yarn carry and thumb flicking to wrap...a fun technique to learn.
salty or sweet?
Sweet! I was raised on sugar 'n' butter sandwiches.

Although not terribly athletic, I bicycled across the country--3,300 miles--on a tandem in 7 weeks in the summer of 2001. It was an experience of a lifetime, and really makes me look forward to seeing more of small town USA.
aside from knitting, what are you passionate about?
Macintosh computers (user since 1990), creativity (graphic designer who admires design—graphic, architectural, industrial--and the arts in general) and kayaking (small scale--really just paddling in circles around a little lake).

This birthday was special to me, not because it was a milestone, but a gift. After two car accidents and the death of two of my contemporaries, I have come to recognize just how special a birthday can be.
It was also a honor to share the stage with Judith. Such a giving heart is rare theses days.
So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to everyone - for your company, conversations, cards and gifts. I may not have been the youngest at the party, but I did feel very youthful and I had alot of fun."

Missed the Beanery?
Fret not! In case of inclement weather, we bring the Beanery experience to you—virtually. We were fortunate to see Suzanne in all her StaPuff glory (looked very nice!) and had fun with a bit of Ravelry work. Laurie (Lori?) finished her sock amid cheering and admiration. Is that the Bellatrix pattern I see in front of LindaLu? Or maybe Fawkes?
dog and cat hair
Thursday evening Harriet and I were at have you any wool? where we met Nancy. She is one of a group of spinners/knitters who are using dog and cat hair to make things. The $ raised will go to help provide for animals. Well, being the lovescritters [name on ravelry] person that I am.... I offered to collect pet fur from any of you wanting to *share*. You can bring it to me at BSKG Guild meetings and I will pass it on.
